The San Jose to Merced Project Section is part of the first phase of the California High-Speed Rail System that will provide a critical rail link between the Silicon Valley and the Central Valley. The approximately 84-mile project section will travel between stations in San Jose and Gilroy and (after passing through the Central Valley) north to Merced or south to Fresno.
The Authority invites you to come and learn about the project and the range of alternatives being studied and get an update on environmental clearance, expected to be complete in 2018. This is an opportunity to ask questions and provide input regarding effects to the environment including biological resources, cultural resources, air quality, noise, community impacts, environmental justice and more. Your feedback regarding potential environmental issues is important and allows us to take your concerns into account as part of the project decision-making process.
